My first experience at Cape Town Mavericks Club

How I got interested in Mavericks

When I first arrived in Cape Town in 2019, I spent some time looking for places which were similar to the Cheeky Tigers club in Gauteng. For some who are not familiar with Cheeky Tigers club, this is a franchised club offering adult entertainment located in different parts of Gauteng. I wanted to find something similar in Cape Town, and that was when I discovered Mavericks. It’s slogan, “A gentleman knows”, piqued my curiosity. However, it’s entry price of R100 was above my budget at the time since I was a university student living off NSFAS funding. As a result, I didn’t go to Mavericks. I knew of it, but saw it as being too expensive for me to frequent.

7 years later, I got to have my first Mavericks experience

A few weeks ago, in February 2026, I went to Mavericks with a friend of mine. On a random Friday, we decided that we wanted to go out and explore the night scene in Cape Town. When we got to Town, we decided that we had to go to Mavericks, telling ourselves that a night time in Cape Town is not sufficient until one has been to Mavericks. My friend had been there before, and I was quite happy at the prospect of us going there. My eyes opened up, and a big smile came over my face.

The Mavericks setup

How mavericks is setup is that they have 2 stages, the bottom stage and the top stage. The bottom stage is the general area, which is where you find yourself the minute you enter into the place. The top stage is divided into 2 sections, one for ladies and the other for VIP’s. The section for the ladies is where you find a single lady stripping (for everyone in the club) at any given time. And the other section is where VIP is located. And near the entrance of this section, there’s another single lady who is stripping (for everyone in the club).

What I liked about Mavericks

Variety

The variety of girls is clearly visible from the moment you walk in. They have got white, black, indian, coloured girls on the display. As a gentleman that likes flavour, I appreciated that. I could enjoy a lap dance from different girls if I wanted, and I loved that they provided the space for it. I appreciate a woman with a sizeable behind, I found myself drawn to the black ladies that they had as a result. What I didn’t see were big chubby woman in there. In fact, the biggest woman that I saw there wasn’t chubby. For the gentleman that prefers this kind of woman, you won’t find them at Mavericks.

Crowd strip tease

I don’t know if this is standard or not, but at one point - there was a lady who came to the bottom stage and did a strip tease event. She spent around 30 minutes stripping and seducing the crowd, before leaving. This was amazing! And the group of gents in front of me tipped her some money (all cash).

The money walk

I might be forgetting what this is called and its name may not be “the money walk”, but I’ll describe it shortly and you should be able to understand what I’m referring to. At different time intervals, they have an experience where all the ladies in the club (yes, all of them) line up in a straight line in the top stage, and an announcer announces their names as they walk out from backstage to the visible part of the stage. I found this to be cool. If there was a specific woman that I liked, this would’ve been the perfect time for me to learn her name without me having invited her to the table. Plus, I got to see all the ladies that were available. In the beginning, I was following the girls names but after a dozen or so, I stopped keeping track.

There were plenty of ladies walking out, and each lady walked to the pole and did a small strip for the crowd. As each lady walks out, they find themselves in the bottom stage and they form another line here as well. Once all the ladies have been announced and exited the top stage - the money walk continued. The ladies all formed a straight line downstairs, took off their bras and walked around the bottom stage, all the way to the top stage. These ladies had amazing breasts! This was a great thing to witness.

What I didn’t like about Mavericks

Pricing

Mavericks is expensive. A lap dance cost R500 and this was for around 15 minutes. No touching. I’m an entry level working professional, so I’m quite price sensitive and there was no way that I was going to get myself a lap dance. However, I found the other events and experiences that they provided to be such a value add. For my experience, I only paid an entrance fee of R100, and experienced the “crowd strip tease” and “the money walk” - which were all worth it.

Will I go again?

Hell yes! I enjoyed my time there. Perhaps for next time, I’ll budget money to ensure that I can try out a lap dance. From the experience I had, I’d love to have one. They have a fantastic selection of ladies.
